The short answer
If you sell mainly to customers in the Emirates and qualify for it, a .ae name reads as local and helps search engines show you to people in the UAE. If you sell across borders, or do not qualify, .com is the safe default. Many businesses register both and point one at the other.
.ae and .com side by side

Why many businesses register both
- Protect the brand. Nobody else can take the matching name and confuse your customers.
- Catch typing habits. Visitors who type .com out of habit still reach you.
- One main address. Pick one as your main website and email address and redirect the other to it, so search engines see a single site.
Registering .ae
The .ae registry sets its own eligibility rules, and they can change. Our .ae registration guide lists what to prepare, and the .ae domains page has the live price and a search box.
